Our focus.

Resettlement

Assistance with housing search (temporary and primary housing)
Provide transportation
Provide funds for immediate needs such as clothing and groceries, supplies, basic phone service
Linguistics assistance
Donation drives for military bases currently housing Afghan refugees.
Fresh Start has developed and delivered resources and cultural orientation training that will help Afghans integrate into American society and become economically self-sufficient.
Fresh Start has developed and delivered cultural orientation training to several American organizations that are supporting Afghan refugees.

Education

Workshops: Fresh Start will deliver educational workshops that promote self-sufficiency. These workshops will take place quarterly and will be offered virtually and in person.
Skills Development: In collaboration with local organizations, Fresh Start will help refugees acquire skills in the technology sector that will promote long-term career growth.
Mentorship Program: Fresh Start will develop and deliver mentorship programs that will support refugee families. The programs will connect newly resettled families to a local or virtual mentor to help with intermediate and long-term personal support.

Community Integration

Community Morale Building Activities: Our team implements regular community building activities that improve morale among the refugees and supports integration. These include activities for children and adults. Past events include Eid Al-Adha celebration, Back to School, Thanksgiving, Art Therapy, and more.
